Curiosity with discipline
Ask open questions, test assumptions, and change direction when the evidence calls for it. A useful negative result is still a result.
About Zero One Labs
Our vision is for AI to expand what people can understand and accomplish, with the evidence and accountability needed to use it well.
Our mission
Zero One Labs brings together a proposed direction for AI research, practical solutions, and responsible governance. We want to connect rigorous questions with real needs, and keep the effects on people in view.
A useful system begins with understanding its context. Research can test what is possible; evaluation can show where it breaks; governance can clarify whether, and how, it should be used.
We are setting out the questions and principles that would guide this work. Proposed themes and services are identified as such, and research findings will be presented with their supporting evidence.
What should guide the work
Ask open questions, test assumptions, and change direction when the evidence calls for it. A useful negative result is still a result.
Explain how a conclusion was reached and where it may not hold. Distinguish observation, interpretation, and ambition.
Make room for the people affected by a system. Establish who decides, who reviews, and how a concern can change the outcome.
Bring complementary knowledge together, agree on expectations, and credit contributions. Good work benefits from scrutiny across disciplines.
We welcome conversations with researchers, organizations exploring AI, governance stakeholders, and experts who share an interest in useful, accountable systems.
